IBEW pay scales by local

Published journeyman wage scales from IBEW local unions across the US. The on-the-check hourly rate plus the full package (health, pension, annuity). Union scales are public, negotiated, and updated every contract cycle. We compile each local's current scale from published wage data and link every number to its source.

How union pay scales work

The scale is the wage. Every IBEW local negotiates a binding pay scale with its contractors. The journeyman rate is the base. Apprentices earn a fixed percentage of it that steps up each year, and foremen earn a fixed premium above it.

The package is bigger than the check. On top of the hourly wage, contractors pay into health insurance, pension, annuity, and training funds for every hour worked. The total package is often 40–70% above the take-home rate.

It's public by design. Unlike non-union pay, union scales are published, usually as a wage sheet or bulletin on the local's website. We link every number to its source.
